Our Call

The Caribbean Literature Alliance invites writers to bring their voices to the forefront by sharing their unique Caribbean stories, perspectives, and knowledge. We are passionate about fostering a community of authors who can shape the narrative of the Caribbean and bring these rich cultural insights to readers worldwide. Whether you’re an emerging author or an established writer, your story matters, and we’re here to help you share it with the world.

We seek manuscripts across a wide range of genres to reflect the Caribbean’s diverse literary landscape. Your submission could be a:


  • Children’s Book that shares Caribbean folklore or lessons for young minds


  • Self-Help Book offering wisdom from a Caribbean perspective


  • Educational Book that illuminates the unique history, geography, or insights of the Caribbean


  • Historical Narrative exploring untold stories of the region’s past


  • Cultural Exploration of Caribbean traditions, music, food, and customs


  • Fictional Work that captures the spirit of the Caribbean


  • Romance Novel that sets a love story against the vibrant backdrop of the islands

Submission Process


1. Prepare Your Manuscript


  • Make sure your manuscript aligns with the themes and genres listed above. We’re looking for works that bring authenticity, voice, and depth to the Caribbean experience. Before submitting, ensure your manuscript is formatted properly, proofread, and ready for initial review.


2. Submit Your Manuscript


  • You can submit your manuscript by visiting our website caribbeanliteraturealliance.com or emailing it directly to submissions@caribbeanliteraturealliance.com. Be sure to include a brief author bio, a summary of your book, and any relevant details about the genre and intended audience.


3. Initial Review and Selection


  • After the submission deadline on December 1, 2024, our editorial team will carefully review each manuscript. This initial review considers factors like originality, relevance to Caribbean themes, and audience engagement potential. Selected authors will be notified in January 2024 with next steps.


4. Contract and Editing Phase


  • Authors of chosen manuscripts will move into the contract phase in February 2024, where rights, royalties, and other important terms will be discussed. Following this, the editing phase will begin, working closely with our editorial team to ensure your story shines.


5. Design, Proofing, and Final Approval


  • Once editing is complete, your manuscript will move into design and formatting, followed by proofing. You will have the opportunity to review proofs before final approval to ensure everything looks just right.


6. Book Launch


  • We aim to launch your book in March 2024, celebrating the newest additions to Caribbean literature. Your book will be made available on platforms like Amazon, Kindle, iTunes, and in hardcopy within Saint Kitts and Nevis, reaching readers in the Caribbean and beyond.
